Within the framework of the project

Through this invitation we wish to include you in the opening of the Exhibition “MY EUROPE” which concludes a one-year project that encourages discussion about Europe through Art. The project “Art brings Europe closer to young people” aims to engage visual artists in Albania and Kosovo, encourages the artistic creativity of young people with Europe as their Muse, and contributes to the public discourse on the European integration and identity of Albanians.

The exhibition “MY EUROPE” is organized by the EU Policy Hub organization in Albania and the SINK Institute in Kosovo, with the support of the National Youth Congress and the Municipality of Tirana within the framework of Tirana European Youth Capital 2022. The exhibition is a platform for public expression about Europe, about the shades of the European and Western identity of Albanians, contributing to a more realistic understanding of the worldview that young artists from Albania and Kosovo hold of the European continent and Institution. Around 20 young artists from Albania and Kosovo have taken part in the exhibition with their works in the media of painting, photography, graphic design, poster, digital painting and sculpture.

In some 30 years of transition and feverish longing for Europe, artists are the ones who first tore down the walls of division, or the barriers of unfamiliarity. Young artists within the Albanian or Balkan territory are in “perpetuum mobile” – in constant motion to understand Europe and to be understood by it. It is with this approach that this exhibition comes, one that influences the comprehension and expression of European identity through the artistic stance of young people.

Organized by: EU Policy Hub in Albania and the SINK Institute in Kosovo, with the support of the National Youth Congress and the Municipality of Tirana within the framework of Tirana European Youth Capital 2022.

The organizers and the curatorial board of the exhibition have the honor and pleasure to invite you to the opening of the exhibition, the meeting organized at its start with the artists from Albania and Kosovo, and all the events according to the program. The opening of the exhibition will be held on 28 March 2023, at 16:00, and will remain open until 31 March 2023. A masterclass with the participation of the artists and under the direction of the exhibition’s curator will be held on Wednesday, 29 March 2023, at 10:00, at the premises of Europa House.
