Gjon Mili Museum Korçë

A museum dedicated to the work and life of the well-known photographer Gjon Mili was inaugurated in his birth city of Korçë, conceived as an experiential museum for getting to know the great artist's work, while also serving as a meeting point for photography lovers.

The museum's opening day crowned a long journey and an inter-institutional collaboration among many partners, in which EJAlbum was the contractor and executor of all the exhibited materials from the artist's archive.

This museum is located on the city's pedestrian street, in the building of the former Romanian House, completely reconstructed and adapted for the Gjon Mili museum, thereby bringing the great artist back to his birth city.

So you don't get lost in the museum: the hall of events and exhibitions with the Gjon Mili light installation, the long-exposure experiment room, the stroboscopic lighting experiment room, the pavilion of life with historical objects, the documentary room produced by curator Yllka Gjollesha, the career-history pavilion, and of course all the exhibited works. For this museum, EJAlbum used various materials, all of photographic quality, from prints mounted on aluminium to print&cut installations, information boards, signage, foam board, forex, plexiglass, etc. A complex undertaking, but one that embodies our mission of bringing visitors closer to the world of photography through the work and life of one of the best photographic artists of the last century.
