Greetings from EJAlbum!
2024 too was full of projects and exhibitions, as well as full of albums and printed photographs and artworks produced everywhere. If we must single out a few of them: we began the year with the group exhibition “Armëpushim / Armistice” at the Open Art Gallery in Prishtina, a gallery where in July we also exhibited Naim Spahiu’s project “Behind the Curtains There Are Other Curtains”, which also travelled to Tirana at Gocat Gallery in November. In Kosovo this year we again collaborated with the “FOTOIST International Photography Festival” with many events during August in Prishtina. Once more this year our engagement continued with the “Fokus Award International Festival” with exhibitions in Tirana and Fier during September. It was the 7th year of the “International Tirana Photo Festival”, full of new features and exhibitions, held during June–July. From 2024 we single out the important project “Sogno Metallurgico – Ardian Isufi” at Kursaal Santalucia in Bari during February–April. Also in Italy we highlight the collaboration with Was Bleibt Kollectiv – Gentian Doda at Villa Mazzotti in Chiari, the exhibition “Conflict Effect – by Armando Babani” at Museo Faina in Orvieto, Ardian Pepa and Vlasov Sulaj in San Basile, in Calabria, etc. 4 July found us at Oda Gallery in Shkodër, for the exhibition “Keep Calm & Smile – by Korab Basha”, an exhibition which then travelled to Prishtina and, for the November Holidays, to Tirana. 2024 was the year of consolidation of our project “Pressura” with several exhibitions and trainings, among which we highlight the exhibition “Visual Poetry on Social Photography” during September–October at the Gallery Of Contemporary Art Tirana, a gallery in which you can continue to enjoy, until 10 February 2025, the site-specific project built with Ardian Isufi; “UFO – Unidentified False Projects”. The year 2024 was again a year of our engagement with Family Art Guides together with MeWe Contemporary Center for the project “Riviera Castles” and the illustrated art guides for children. It was the year of the second edition of the “Gjon Mili International VideoArt Festival” in Korça, at the Gallery of Immersive Arts, where the immersive exhibition “Italian Renaissance” is currently also on show. This year too we collaborated with Albanian and foreign institutions, organizations and companies, we carried out over 20 projects and even more exhibitions, trainings, workshops, ideas and public engagements.
EJAlbum also continues to offer its photographic products, all Made in Italy by Album Epoca & Photosì, as well as to provide a wide range of innovative services which over the years have reached thousands of clients in our region. As a company engaged 360 degrees in the art of photography and communication, alongside of course the contemporary art that constitutes our DNA. With our artistic engagement we strive to address acute, troubling, vital issues. Often our projects have global themes – from the climate emergency, war, the ever more pervasive influence of the media and social networks, the hyperbolic rise of economic inequality, etc. Often they address local themes – inviting the public to reflect on the abuse of power, on the system and the society in which we live, to investigate where economic interests prevail over what should be the good of the community. But EJAlbum strives, with your help, to do even more; at EJAlbum we conceive of art as activism, as a stance, as an expression of the everyday battles for a better world, for all of us. All of the above has been achieved only thanks to our collaboration with partners and institutions whom we thank for their trust, thanks to your precious support and also thanks to the tireless work of our staff and our wonderful collaborators. So let us close with our wishes; it is time to celebrate and to gather energy for New Year’s Eve and for the New Year ahead.
Happy 2025!
EJAlbum wishes you a successful, peaceful, healthy and inspiring New Year.
As always, #StayConnected
