JOIN THE DOTS – Imago Mundi Trieste

Thanks to Imago Mundi, 163 Albanian artists exhibit together with artists from 40 Mediterranean countries. "Join the Dots" is an exhibition with a full 40 art collections, an invitation to connect the dots by following the red thread that joins them. The city of Trieste has always been a hub for the exchange of ideas and trade, and in our case it becomes the starting point of an itinerary between land and sea, taking us on a journey from the shores of the North Sea to legendary Baghdad, to sun-drenched Morocco, from the steppes of the Danube and the beaches of the Baltic, to the Negev desert. All this thanks to the kaleidoscope of images offered by the works of over 6,300 artists. Beyond this, Join the Dots is a series of meetings and events that will bring Trieste's summer to life, with a packed calendar of activities.

Albania is naturally there: Imago Mundi Knots opens the exhibition with the 163 Albanian artists who exhibit together, becoming one of those points that connect Albanian art with the rest of the world. This is yet another time that Albanian artists exhibit their work around the world thanks to the Imago Mundi project; we recall that this global project is supported by Luciano Benetton and the Fondazione Benetton Studi e Ricerche.

The Albanian collection is called Knots / Nyje and contains works from these artists:

"Albania / Knots – 163 Contemporary Artists from Albania" brings together Albanian artists in a rather prestigious publication. The Project Manager of the whole Imago Mundi in Albania project is Elton Koritari, and the collection is curated by Elton Koritari, Albes Fusha and Alban Hajdinaj. The whole project is implemented in Albania by EJAlbum. The exhibition's next stop, in Trieste, was opened to the public by Mr. Luciano Benetton himself and many personalities from Italian and international art and culture. We recall that Mr. Benetton holds an Honoris Causa degree awarded by the University of Arts Tirana, in a ceremony that was rather beautiful and unforgettable for the Albanian art scene. Furthermore, the project has created a broad database of Albanian artists all over the world, and a way of promoting and connecting the Albanian art scene with the international one. The Albanian collection will continue its journey through museums and art galleries around the world after this exhibition closes.
