Helidon Gjergji

About Helidon Gjergji

Born in Tirana in 1970, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana. He also graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, Italy. He took a Master’s Degree in Art Theory and Practice from the Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. Over the course of his career, Helidon Gjergji has worked in a variety of mediums, from painting, to media installation and architecture. Despite the variety of those mediums, his work has consistently interrogated the porosity and fragility of the borders between the media, the self, and the parameters of individual agency.
