About Ali Oseku

Born in Tirana in 1944, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana in 1969. After a three year experience as a stage and costume designer for the Theater of Opera, Tirana, he was condemned with two years of reeducation labor. Then, Ali Oseku spent four years in the notorious prison of Spaç. Communist regime prohibited him from creating and displaying his works of art. Oseku came back even more powerful, confirming that nothing can stop a true artist. The space that Ali Oseku creates allows him to be free and limitless, real and fluid, cosmic, and unreal. He escapes from this reality in order to expose an intimate and poetic one. The game of searching for dreams entertains him just like a child.
